In 2000 it was agreed with users that we should create a memorial area in respect of all those people who had died as a result of the troubles in the BT14 area. It is situated on the ground floor at the rear of the building in an area where the alter of the old St Silas Church once stood.
The memorial is open to everyone and attracts frequent visitors. Some spend time in quiet reflection others call simply to view it or light a candle. In 2005 we invited relatives to attend a Christmas candlelight service which has now become an annual event.
The memorial attracts visitors from all over the world and we have hosted groups and representatives from international agencies working in a similar field. Likewise students also make frequent visits.
